Six Senses of Critique for Critical Phenomenology

What is the meaning of critique for critical phenomenology? Building on Gayle Salamon’s engagement with this question in inaugural issue Puncta: A Journal Critical Phenomenology (2018), I will propose a six-fold account as: 1) art asking questions, moved by crisis; 2) transcendental inquiry into conditions possibility meaningful experience; 3) quasi-transcendental, historically-grounded study particular lifeworlds; 4) (situated and interested) analysis power; 5) problematization basic concepts methods; 6) praxis freedom that seeks not only to interpret lived experience, but also change under which horizons meaning, action, relationship are wrongfully limited or foreclosed. While first two dimensions alive well classical phenomenology, others help articulate what distinctive about phenomenology.
